Local Authorities and Smarter Traffic Management Day
28th November 2017 @ IET Birmingham
Following the highly successful Connected Vehicle Deployment workshop in Newcastle in May, local authorities and other relevant organisations are invited to a new (and free) Conference to build on some of the action points for improving our roads – which were raised at that meeting- and to learn more about innovations in traffic management.
The Smarter Traffic Management Day will also consider solutions to the key challenges raised, including for connected vehicles/infrastructure, and discuss how the DfT/Innovate UK/The Institution of Engineering and Technology/ITS (UK)/Transport Systems Catapult/Traffic Technology Forum can work together and with local authorities to help.
Jesse Norman, the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, will provide the keynote speech. The day will include a series of short presentations giving an overview of hot topics for road authorities and projects underway, a panel session and workshops where local authority practitioners will inform the DfT and its partners about their future funding priorities and key topics for research in traffic and innovation.
Around 100 people attended the event in May including many local authority representatives and we hope more will attend this next event.
